It has felt like a long time since we have seen the Orlando Magic take the floor.
The sting of a disappointing playoff series is hard to wear off. Everyone wanted some time away after a frustrating season. The hope and optimism of last summer had completely worn off.
There is still some trepidation entering the upcoming NBA season.
The Magic changed coaches, hiring Sean Sweeney. But they largely kept the roster the same, losing only Moe Wagner and Jett Howard and acquiring Nikola Vucevic (who returned to Orlando this week for his first trip to the AdventHealth Training Center).
Orlando is betting on improved health from Franz Wagner, especially, and internal growth to reclaim their spot near the top of the Eastern Conference. There is a healthy amount of skepticism around the league.
But August springs hope eternal.
If you cannot believe in the best version of a team in August, it is hard to believe in it at any point. This is the time to be excited.
The Magic got their path for the 2027 season with the release of the schedule on Thursday. Orlando certainly will have a challenge ahead of them with how difficult the Eastern Conference is set to become. The start to the Magic's season will certainly be tricky too.
But Orlando has the talent to handle it. If the Magic are as good as they believe, they will find out fairly quickly what they can accomplish this season.
There are still six weeks left before training camp begins on Sept. 29 -- with media day set for Sept. 28. The schedule is out and everyone cannot wait for Magic basketball anymore.
Patience, Padowan. For now, remind yourself how to catch all the action with the Magic season on the horizon.

The Orlando Magic have historiclaly performed well in the NBA Cup, advancing deeper into the tournament in each of its iteration and going 10-2 in group play all-time. The Orlando Magic reached the NBA Cup semifinals, defeating the Miami Heat in the quarterfinals at home after winning their group with a perfect 4-0 record.
