Ryan Anderson is a Magic alumnus fans have been pining after for some time now. A lot of people still cannot figure out why the Magic let him walk in restricted free agency and led to the contract that is just now concluding for the New Orleans Pelicans.

But here the Magic are again. In need of shooting and some front-court depth (depending on how you view Aaron Gordon). And Anderson is available again.

Since leaving the Magic, Anderson has gone through serious injuries and some serious personal trauma. He has tried to expand his game beyond simply shooting 3-pointers. That has happened to mixed results.

He can score. His shooting is still very valuable. He is the picture of a good stretch-4.

The question for the Magic is fit. Right now, Anderson is not the best fit. The power forward spot is already stocked with guys that need to start — whether it is Serge Ibaka or Aaron Gordon. Anderson is a starter in the league and likely is not seeking a situation where he comes off the bench.

It would be nice to see a reunion with Anderson. But it is not in the cards right now.
