5 2023 NBA Draft prospects to know for the Orlando Magic’s No. 6 pick

The Orlando Magic now know what pick they will have in the 2023 NBA Draft.

They did not get a present from the Lottery, but they also did not get hurt in the Lottery. Orlando did not move up or down in the NBA Draft Lottery, landing with the sixth and 11th picks. According to Zach Lowe of ESPN, the Magic needed a 4 on the last draw to win the Lottery.

Alas, they will have to do with the picks they have.

The good news is the Magic are in a position to add two quality players to their growing team. Or to use those picks to add veteran players through trades. The Magic should have plenty of options available to them.

There is still a long way to go before the June 22 NBA Draft. And there will be a lot more information to gather on the prospects the team will look at.

The Orlando Magic are preparing to pick No. 6 in the NBA Draft. It is time to introduce at least the five main players the Magic will consider with their pick.

But already the big boards are starting to assemble. Even if there is a big group of players to know and start to do some tape study on, the targets for the Magic at their two picks — both at No. 6 and No. 11 — are starting to become clear.

It is helpful then at this early stage in our draft process to begin introducing the prospects the Magic are most likely to target.

Orlando’s needs are fairly clear.

The Magic need shooting badly to create space in their offense. But they could also use some more reliable depth throughout their roster, whether that is adding some forward depth to spell Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner or to give cover for Jonathan Isaac’s injury history. They could also use some backcourt depth — but that should go hand in hand with the shooting.

Additionally, the Magic should be in the market for a backup center. But they are not likely to find that in this draft class. Outside of Victor Wembanyama, it is devoid of centers.

With that in mind, this is our time to begin the basic introductions to the prospects and who the Magic will target with their picks. We start with the sixth pick:
