Ranking the Orlando Magic’s 5 most valuable trade assets for 2024.

2. All of their future first round picks

What is better than the Orlando Magic’s first round pick this summer? How about all of their remaining picks for the decade.

We know the organization cannot just trade them all in one go as part of a mega deal, and would have to do something like three firsts and then pick swaps in alternate years.

But the fact they have all of these picks at all is such a position of strength for the Magic to be in. It means that if the next disgruntled superstar like Luka Doncic becomes available, that the Magic can offer as many first round picks and swaps as the Mavericks as for.

They would then have to add Wendell Carter and Jalen Suggs as well at the very least, and while that would decimate this list, the name of the game in the NBA is to get a superstar. Doncic is among the best there is today, and he would change everything for the Magic.

Having all of these picks, and being able to go in different directions with them this summer if needed, is about as enviable a position as a team can be in as they look to take that next step forward.

Thanks to some shrewd moves from the front office, they have acquired players with legitimate star power in Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner, and have been able to keep their war chest of picks intact in the process. In a bidding war for a star, few can match the Magic for picks alone.
