Orlando Magic fans may feel good about the direction the organization is heading in right now, and they have every reason to do so. With Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, Markelle Fultz and Wendell Carter leading the charge, the team is in good hands.

Throw in two likely lottery picks this summer, as well as a relatively clean cap sheet, and there is every reason to believe even better days are coming for this franchise in the next few seasons.

Every offseason brings with it the potential for sizeable setbacks though. And this summer is no different for the Magic. In fact, they have a lot to get right to continue with their forward momentum.

This offseason is an incredibly important one for the Orlando Magic as the front office seeks to put the final pieces in place for at least a Play-in berth next year. But that could easily get derailed with the wrong moves that hamstring the team.

The Magic need only look at the Sacramento Kings in the Western Conference, and their “light the beam” inspired season, to know that getting to that level themselves is within their grasp.

But a series of bad moves at this important point could seem them tumble closer to the likes of the Charlotte Hornets, who just cannot seem to get out of the valley they have created for themselves. No pressure then for the top brass to get this right.

Every team is always on the precipice of climbing to that mythical next level and falling back into the depths of the Lottery. Anything can still happen. And even a team with the talent Orlando has is not immune to these dangers.

As the Magic prepare for an important offseason, there are certainly some potholes they need to avoid.
