As most basketball fans are excited for the new season coming up, for some of them this means they are awaiting the arrival of the new version of NBA 2K.

For those who do not play the game NBA 2K is a video game that simulates the real NBA. It has a culture all of its own — including a professional NBA 2K League with Magic Gaming coming off their first postseason appearance this season.

For the real NBA players, the biggest part of the game is the player’s ratings with many players obsessing and sometimes arguing with Ronnie 2K (who is not involved in coming up with the player ratings) about their own rating.

NBA 2K23 was released on Friday marking the official final turn toward the 2022-23 season. The Orlando Magic are among the teams near the bottom of the standings again. But there is still plenty to be excited about.

Fans also get in on the action, arguing about the ultimate results for their team’s rankings.

Players are normally excited to see how they are ranked in the game. They know so many people play. And the fans are excited to see how their favorite teams and players got rated. Some may be happy, surprised or disappointed but that is the fun of the game.

The Orlando Magic are once again likely near the bottom of the standings. Paolo Banchero was already announced as the top rookie in the game. But he is still below the mystical 80-mark that is usually the threshold for stardom.

Orlando is still striving to be better.

With the game now out, let’s take a look at how they did rating the players on the Orlando Magic.
