Top 20 Shooters in Orlando Magic History

5. Pat Garrity

By Stefan Alvarez

When you hear the name Pat Garrity, what do you think of?

Wait . . . How many people actually remember Pat Garrity? Well, let me remind you.

The three-point marksman played seven of his eight NBA seasons for the Orlando Magic and is one of the franchise’s premier shooters behind the arc. Garrity ranks among the top 10 all-time for the franchise in 3-point field goals made and 3-point field goal percentage.

Garrity managed to shoot better than 40 percent from deep in each of his first three seasons in Orlando.

The Notre Dame alum performed at a career-best during the 2002 season. In his 80 games played that season, Garrity averaged 11.1 points per game on 42 percent shooting from deep. He also represented Orlando in the Three-Point Shooting Contest.

I think it is safe to say Garrity played in an era well before his time. Spot shooting big men were not viewed as the commodity that they are today. But Garrity made his mark in Orlando and should be regarded as one of the Magic top shooters.
