Best Game of 2019

Feb. 9 at Bucks: 9 points, 7 assists, 4/5 FGs

Isaiah Briscoe was not one to put up big numbers in games. He was not a go-to scorer or even a reliable shooter. So there were few games when he really stood out besides his energy. His energy was his main attribute throughout the season. That was what Orlando needed him to provide.

But there were a few games where Briscoe started to emerge and show he could be a bit more. He could be someone who got into the lane and could dish out to the perimeter or finish around the basket and even hit outside shots.

Briscoe could be a bit more.

Against the Milwaukee Bucks in February (with Giannis Antetokounmpo out of the lineup), Isaiah Briscoe did a good job driving into the lane and feeding to the outside. He was patient and able to drive into the lane. Without Antetokounmpo patrolling the lane, he was able to get in the paint and collapse the defense well.

This game was less about Briscoe’s ability to be a wrecking ball, sometimes uncontrollably, and more about a player in command of the offense and creating off the bounce. This was Briscoe at his best. One of the few games where he had a complete effort.
