7. 1996 Anfernee Hardaway

18 points, 7 assists, 6/8 FGs

Anfernee Hardaway still was getting his feet wet around the league. The 1996 season was the first time Hardaway was pushed into the limelight with Shaquille O’Neal’s injury through the early parts of the season. No one could blame Hardaway for taking some time off this season at the All-Star Game.

This is hardly taking too much time off. Hardaway still scored a lot of points and put up a ton of highlights.

Not to mention, created some fashion by wearing a bandage below his eye. Why is still not entirely clear.

This was Shaquille O’Neal’s All-Star Game to dominate.

6. 1997 Anfernee Hardaway

19 points, 7 rebounds, 7/10 FGs

In 1997, Anfernee Hardaway was alone. Shaquille O’Neal had left for Los Angeles and Hardaway was the star for the Magic. He was a starter in the All-Star Game for the third straight year. And he put in his best All-Star performance.

Not to mention, initiating Dikembe Mutombo by ripping his sweatpants off during introductions as Michael Jordan did for him the year before.

Hardaway was never better in the All-Star Game. There were never any major highlights with Hardaway, he was just solid in getting his play in and moving on. It was an All-Star Game after all.
