Orlando Magic Daily Roundtable: What’s next or just wait until the trade deadline
At the midpoint of the season, what has disappointed you most about the Orlando Magic? Which player has disappointed you the most?
Rossman-Reich: The Orlando Magic’s inconsistency disappoints me most. There are shades of the problems from the last six years popping up time and time again. They know exactly how they have to play to win games and yet they do not do it consistently every night. This is frustrating for sure.
The Magic need to play with that level of intensity and focus. If they get beat from out-execution that is fine.
I am most disappointed with Jerian Grant. The Magic needed that boost off the bench and they took a good low-risk flyer on him. But he has failed to perform to any expectations. And that has put the team in a deep hole.
Palmer: What has disappointed me most about the Orlando Magic this year is the fact you can see about one quarter into the game what kind of effort the team is going to give. They just do not bring their “A” game every night and that stinks to see as a fan.
As far as the most disappointing player goes, I think I would say Jonathan Isaac. While Jonathan Isaac has been OK overall, his offense is such a negative it is hard for the Magic to really have him on the floor at times.
Defensively, Isaac seems to have taken a step back as well. He is far less disruptive and prone to making some mistakes that we did not see last year. I could have easily gone with Jerian Grant or Jonathon Simmons here, but my expectations for them were not all that high to begin with.
Racine: What has disappointed me the most is the Orlando Magic losing to subpar teams. They have lost games they should win and that will affect them later on in their playoff run.
The player who has disappointed me the most is Jerian Grant. He was a lottery pick and is now at the bottom of Steve Clifford’s bench. I was expecting a breakout year from him but he has been a non-factor offensively.
