What is the biggest thing the Orlando Magic must accomplish this preseason?

Burnley: Ensuring that Jonathan Isaac and Mohamed Bamba are as close to NBA ready as possible, especially with conditioning. Bamba already looks like he has put on some muscle. But if he can come into the season ready to play in the paint against the NBA’s elite, the Orlando Magic will be in a really great spot.

Palmer: I would say the most important thing the Orlando Magic can accomplish this preseason is to prove they have more shooters than advertised. The Magic need Aaron Gordon to show continued improvement from three. The same thing goes for Nikola Vucevic and Jonathan Isaac. They also need Terrence Ross to regain his stroke, Jonathon Simmons to improve some and for Mohamed Bamba to prove he cannot be left wide open from range. If all of those players prove that they at least have to be closed out on, it could potentially open up the Orlando offense this year.

Rossman-Reich: I think the Orlando Magic have to establish their defensive identity first and foremost. The most basic thing is the biggest thing in this case. Orlando needs to show a commitment to the defensive end and a buy-in to the togetherness it will take to be successful on that end. Orlando will get to developing young players and pushing them to the front as the season moves on. In the preseason, they need to ensure they are setting a standard and holding each other accountable to that standard as a basis for their future success.

Racine: The Orlando Magic must develop an identity this preseason. I think that was the problem last season and some of the years prior. Are they going to be a fast up-tempo team or tough and gritty defensively? If the Magic develop an identity, I think they will do well this season.

Next. Orlando Magic hope to return Nikola Vucevic to the post. dark
