The Orlando Magic announced when they will wear their Classic Blue Pinstripe uniforms. Including for the team’s first two games of the 2019 season.

Fans celebrated when the Orlando Magic announced they would wear their classic blue pinstripe jerseys (worn originally from 1995-98). It was the best gift the team could give its fans as it celebrated the 30th anniversary season. That was a given.

And there will surely be more surprises and fun to celebrate the Magic’s 30th anniversary.

A week before training camp opens, the Magic announced exactly when they will wear these beautiful classic throwbacks. The kind of throwbacks that get the national media talking.

The Orlando Magic will don the classic blue throwback uniforms 14 times this season including on opening night Oct. 17 against the Miami Heat.

Everyone expected the Magic would wear these uniforms for special occasions. But opening night? That is a truly special treat.

The other games the Magic will wear their classic uniforms for are also solid throwbacks to classic games. Here is the full 14-game Classic Edition schedule.

The classic logos in the Orlando Magic’s Instagram post is a very nice touch. And really gets us into the spirit for these games with the classic uniforms.

It helps too that many of these games are against teams that Orlando has historical importance with.

The two games against the Miami Heat obviously are against the franchise many Magic fans consider the team’s biggest rival. The Oct. 19 game is the second game of the season and finishes the team’s opening weekend.

The team will wear the classic blue pinstripe uniforms for their 1995 Finals rematch against the Houston Rockets. And, of course, when they face LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers, whom they faced in the 2009 Playoffs and Finals, at home. They will also wear the throwbacks against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Orlando Magic had some classic Playoff battles with the Detroit Pistons (1997, 2003, 2007 and 2008), Indiana Pacers (1994, 1995 and 2012) and Chicago Bulls (1995 and 1996). The Boston Celtics are the only longtime Playoff rival (1995, 2009 and 2010) absent from the list of games for the throwback.

And, finally, the Orlando Magic will wear the throwbacks against their sister team the Minnesota Timberwolves. Both franchises began play in the 1990 season.

It is a good lineup. And probably those 14 occurrences will not be enough for fans. The number one question left is when the Nike Classic Edition jerseys will be available for sale. That has not happened yet. The Mitchell and Ness version is available on the Web, but not the Nike version.

Focus on the Orlando Magic's present, don't obsess about the future. dark. Next

They will be available for sale soon. And the Magic will be rocking the nicest jerseys in the league on Opening Night.
