Orlando Magic

So, where do the Orlando Magic rank in order of progress with the rest of the division?

They exist among the Atlanta Hawks and other rebuilding Eastern foes like the Chicago Bulls and Brooklyn Nets in regards to youth/assets. Though among the four Eastern Conference bottom-dwellers, Orlando may have the duo generating the most buzz in Mohamed Bamba and Jonathan Isaac.

Bulls big men Lauri Markkanen and Wendell Carter Jr. will certainly be right there with Mohamed Bamba and Jonathan Isaac in future discussions of potential. Both duos coupled with Robin Lopez and Aaron Gordon respectively makes for two teams at the forefront of future frontcourts.

With a decent number of veterans gone and with the increasing inevitability of Nikola Vucevic‘s departure, it will be up to the new young core to determine a foundation for success.

Complacency has been at the heart of the Magic’s post-Dwight Howard years. Roster moves notwithstanding, coach Steve Clifford will need to provide the blueprint for a team full of new faces.

The Magic are still laying their foundations, but seem to have some direction finally.
