The “Let the future play together and build some chemistry lineup”

Jerian Grant/Evan Fournier/Aaron Gordon/Jonathan Isaac/Mohamed Bamba

In this lineup, one we might see a lot of if the Magic are not in the playoff race post-all-star break, the Magic go all in on their core.

You can argue maybe Isaiah Briscoe figures to be a more central part of Orlando’s future than Jerian Grant. But it may be smarter to watch Briscoe play in an NBA game before anyone make that proclamation.

This lineup features a lot of what the front office wants out of this team — length and versatility.

In this situation, Grant would be the primary initiator in theory. But in practice, you would see a lot of ball handling chances for Evan Fournier, Aaron Gordon and Jonathan Isaac as well.

Defensively, this lineup has the potential to be extremely disruptive with all of the length employed. Mohamed Bamba, Jonathan Isaac, Aaron Gordon and Evan Fournier all exceed typical size for their spots. And Grant would be average at worst from a size perspective.

This lineup, and truly most Magic lineups, continues to have issues with shooting barring some big improvement from Orlando’s young players.

Again, keep this lineup in mind post-all-star break. One that will clearly have bumps along the road as players learn to fit in to the modern NBA.
