"It looks like the 2019 draft does not project to have a good crop of pgs for the Magic to perhaps draft, Philip where do you see them going in the next year’s draft as far as that 1st pick to add to the young core also called B.I.G?(I know, way too early but its unlikely we will contend this year either)"

It is, of course, way too early to put a major focus on who the Orlando Magic should target in the NBA Draft. I suspect the Magic will be back in the Lottery and likely picking in the top-10, but I am not banking on the team going for the No. 1 pick or anything like that.

Yes, you can begin to see how the class looks and what it is strong in. Orlando is probably still going to largely be in the talent collection phase. But that should end at some point. And Orlando has a core with the three frontcourt positions already accounted for.

Early looks at the class see it dominated by wing players like R.J. Barrett, Nassir Little and Cam Reddish. This is another class that does not have a ton of point guards. That does not mean the Magic will not get what they need. But the draft is not likely to solve the Magic’s point guard problems (unless they use the pick in a trade to get one).

Then again, it is far too early to slot players in. The top guys likely are not going to change. But Trae Young was not even a candidate to enter the draft after his freshman year this time last year. Let alone become the fifth overall pick and a guy a team was willing to trade down to acquire.

So a lot will happen in the course of the college season and the next year to change the draft order. Do not fall in love with any one player or anything like that. There is still a lot of work to do when it comes to the Draft.

That goes for the Magic too. Things can change for them as they go through the season. If they surprise, their draft needs and who they can pick certainly changes.
