Prospects to keep an eye on during March Madness
By Ryan Doyle
Michael Porter Jr., Missouri
vs. Florida State, March 16/9:50 p.m. (TBS)
Boasted as the sure-fire number one pick of the 2018 Draft before the season even began, Michael Porter has suffered through an injury-riddled freshman season with the Missouri Tigers. He underwent back surgery back in November but returned for one game against the Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC Tournament.
Porter shot just 29.4 percent from the field. But after missing so much time there is not much to expect from a 19-year-old.
Although he will not be in basketball shape for most of the tournament, if Missouri plans to make a run deep into March, it will be through Porter.
Listed at 6-foot-10 Porter has elite shooting ability and probably has the highest ceiling in the entire 2018 class. If Orlando believes that the injury is behind him, he could be the star that Magic fans have been itching for.
There will obviously be a lot of work for the Magic to do between the end of the college season and the Draft Combine. And then the work begins again as the teams get their chance to interview and examine the players further.
This is not the only time the Magic will get their eye on these players. It is part of the bigger puzzle of the Draft.
