It is impossible to say this early in the season where the Orlando Magic will end up drafting. But here are a few Lottery-level NCAA prospects to keep an eye on.

The top five of this upcoming draft, which I wrote about here, is one of the most exciting in recent memory.

Understandably most of the buzz has surrounded Marvin Bagley, Luka Doncic, DeAndre Ayton, Mohamed Bamba and Michael Porter. But that does not mean there is not intriguing talent across the board.

Whether John Hammond and Jeff Weltman, in their second draft with the organization, draft for fit or simply take the best player on the board remains to be seen. But either way, they will have plenty of options.

Alabama Crimson Tide guard Collin Sexton is arguably the best non-NBA point guard this side of Luka Doncic. But Oklahoma Sooners guard Trae Young’s incredible shooting has caused his stock to skyrocket.

Michigan State Spartans center Jaren Jackson Jr. is a versatile big man with a clear NBA fit, offering the rare combination of three-point shooting and rim protection acumen. Maryland Terrapins forward Justin Jackson and Villanova Wildcats forward Mikal Bridges are elite forward prospects with impressive measurables. And the list doesn’t end there.

Chances are at least a few of those players will be available when the Orlando Magic draft.

Non-conference season is about to end, getting into the meat of the college basketball season in conference play. The Magic are beginning to fade in the Playoff race and may soon turn their eyes more toward the draft.

So, at this crossroads in the season, let’s dive into some of the prospects and how they are shaking out.
