The Orlando Magic’s Nike jerseys have leaked on social media. The team’s new uniform set offers few changes from their adidas set of the last eight years.

NBA teams are slowly rolling out their new jerseys as part of their new apparel deal with Nike. This has caused a lot of excitement among players and fans as they get a look at their new looks.

With such a sudden switch, many teams around the league were not expecting major changes. There have been some slight alterations and some complete overhauls. A lot of the uniforms have gotten some mixed reviews.

Honestly, the biggest change is likely the way jerseys are selected. The league is switching to each team having four “editions” and doing away with the home and road designation. The home team picks a regularly worn home jersey and it does not have to be the typical white jersey. So far only the Chicago Bulls have officially designated their former road jerseys (the Icon Edition) as their regular uniform.

Orlando Magic fans have been waiting to see what the team’s uniforms look like. The Magic have worn their current set since the 2009 season and everyone seems ready to see a slight redesign at least.

It appears fans will have to wait a little longer for a new jersey design to come out. The Magic’s Association Edition (traditional white/home uniform) and Icon Edition (traditional color/road uniform) were leaked online Thursday. There are very few changes to the uniform set the Magic will wear in 2018, if these leaks are true.

That is the Magic’s Association Edition jersey as worn by Terrence Ross in his official NBA2K18 player rating reveal. Evan Fournier‘s is oncoming (and may have leaked and it actually looks like Evan Fournier this time).

There is obviously not much difference. The font appears the same, the pinstripes are the same. The only thing that is different is the side paneling. The black stripe down the side rounded out and narrowed at the sleeve in the adidas version. Here it stays pretty square and wraps around the arm at the bottom. The same goes witht he black panel on the side of the Icon Edition.

As expected, it was a cosmetic change. A change that carried over to the Magic’s Icon Edition.

The big thing to notice in the Icon Edition jersey — and assumedly it carries over to the Association Edition — is the team name across the waist. This is something that has carried over to several of the Nike jerseys that have been officially released.

The other thing to notice is the Disney ad patch looks more organically incorporated with the jersey. Especially when looking at the photos from Panini — assumedly taken during the rookie’s annual photo shoot at the Rookie Transition Program, so they are real photos and not video game approximations — it looks like it is more incorporated into the uniform.

The Disney patches used on team jerseys during free agency looked sewn on and did not have the pinstripes on them.

These are not the official unveilings for the uniforms, of course. But 2K images have leaked before and proven correct. It makes sense for NBA2K18 to have the jerseys available as they roll out their game play — we are about a month from 2K Day. And Panini’s photos should be a reliable source too since they are the official trading card maker for the NBA.

It would appear these are indeed the Magic’s two new primary jerseys for next year.

The Magic obviously have not announced the jerseys formally, so it is not clear which jersey the Magic will use as their primary uniforms.

Each team will get four uniforms to choose from. Teams are rolling out the Association and Icon Editions throughout the summer.

Early in the season, teams are expected to announce a third jersey based on the “athlete’s mindset.” And then sometime in the winter, the teams will unveil a fourth jersey inspired by the community. Many assume that will be similar to the “Pride” jerseys teams have worn the last few years — the gray jerseys for the Magic, but the Rip City jersey for the Portland Trail Blazers, for example.

The Magic will officially unveil their jerseys sometime soon. And the NBA schedule appears set to release in the next week.
