The Orlando Magic do not have much cap space. Fans should not be expecting a free agent splash this offseason.

But the Magic could make a few under-the-radar moves to improve the team. One of those moves could be adding veteran small forward C.J. Miles.

Miles spent time with Vogel with the Indiana Pacers and has become a pretty solid player. He has done well coming off the bench and filling in when a player goes down with an injury. Similar to most of the players that have been highlighted, he can shoot the ball from behind the arc and play strong defense.

Odds are that Miles is not going to sign a large contract. He made $4.6 million last year before opting out of the final year of his contract. He should be able to fit into the Magic’s budget, but with small forward not looking like a pressing need, Orlando may be content with sticking to their guns and rolling with Aaron Gordon, Mario Hezonja and Jonathan Isaac to fill those minutes.

Still, Miles’ motor and his shooting — 41 percent — from three is going to entice most NBA teams.
