Orlando Magic Daily NBA Draft Live Tracker
I like Terrance Ferguson a lot. He has a lot of basketball skills that are still growing. Scouts project that he can be a good shooter. Interesting pick for Oklahoma City. But definitely someone I would have tried to trade up for if I were the Magic.
I really like Jarrett Allen as a center prospect. I suspect he will take over for Timofey Mozgov fairly quickly in Brooklyn. He is a strong shot blocker and moves well around the basket. If the Magic needed a center, I would have gone after him.
Before getting to the 23rd pick, the Magic have traded the 35th pick to the Memphis Grizzlies, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of the Vertical.
The Magic will acquire the Brooklyn Nets’ 2019 second round pick from the Memphis Grizzlies.
This was a guy I hoped would fall to the Magic. But OG Anunoby is probably not the best fit. He will be a good fit for the Toronto Raptors. He should be able to replace whatever P.J. Tucker was supposed to do. I suspect the Raptors let him walk and cut some cap space in the process. Good pick for Toronto.
This pick is going to the Portland Trail Blazers. I like Lydon a bit as a stretch-4. I thought the Magic could have taken him. Less so with the Isaac pick.
The Magic are now on the clock with Semi Ojeleye, Jawun Evans and Derrick White on the board. I like these options. This was something I suspected would happen. Not taking a point guard early leaves the Magic the chance to fill this need later on in the draft.
Well, the Magic have made another trade. They will trade the 25th pick to the Philadelphia 76ers for a future first round pick (coming from the Oklahoma City Thunder) and a future second-round pick.
Anzejs Pasecniks is an interesting big man and a solid shot blocker. We will see if he ever develops enough strength to make it in the NBA.
Caleb Swanigan is just solid. I am not sure if he is NBA solid. But he is solid.
I like Tony Bradley. He has a good frame and could grow into a solid contributor. He produced a lot in short minutes. Projects well. But maybe should have stayed at school to develop.
I have no opinion of Kyle Kuzma. I would not have used a first-round pick on him.
How do the San Antonio Spurs keep doing this? Seriously. How do they keep getting these super talented players late in the first round that will inevitably turn into contributors. They are shopping Danny Green and they find a potential replacement who can handle the ball and attack the basket and score. White will be a steal for the Spurs. Would have loved to see the Magic take him at No. 25.
Experienced guard should be able to help the Lakers out a lot with his experience.
