Orlando Magic Draft Targets for pick No. 25
By Ryan Doyle
Dwayne Bacon — G (Florida State)
The Magic could decide to stick close to home and select Florida State Seminoles guard Dwayne Bacon. The scoring machine was paired with Jonathan Isaac to form the two-headed monster that led the Seminoles to the NCAA Tournament.
As a sophomore, Bacon had no problem scoring as he averaged 17.4 points per game including 45 points in two NCAA Tournament games.
It is not likely for Bacon to develop into a point guard, but the Magic could use Bacon at depth at either guard position. Bacon could become a spark plug off the bench if he continues to expand his range.
If Bacon can begin to hit the outside shot — he shot 33.3 percent from beyond the arc last season — he should enjoy a long career in the league. He has the size to play solid defense and with the rest of his offensive game pretty polished, the jump shot will be his key to success.
