With the Orlando Magic having four picks in this year’s draft, it is not a lock they keep all of the picks. As opposed to a rebuilding team, bringing in four rookies is not ideal if Orlando is trying to make the playoffs in the short term.

The team could most certainly use those assets in the second round in a package sent to a contender who does not need rookie contributions this year but can take time with them for the future.

The Magic should strongly consider handing over one or two of their picks in an effort to acquire a veteran that will definitely contribute from day one or to move up in the draft for a more talented player.

Seeing how the Magic are currently without a full-time general manager, trading any picks may be difficult. The Magic will more than likely have a front office leader by Draft day, but if not, going with the best player available will be the best draft strategy.

With two early second round picks, the Magic have an opportunity to add some talent to the roster in a low-risk setting. Hopefully, the Magic can find a diamond in the rough.
