Frank Jackson, Duke

Frank Jackson enters the draft after a somewhat inconsistent season with the Duke Blue Devils. As a point guard, Jackson has good size at 6-foot-4, 208 pounds. At this point, he is more of a scoring guard rather than a facilitator.

Jackson at times gets tunnel vision and cannot find the open man. If Orlando was to draft him, the team would definitely bring him off the bench until he develops better vision or use him as a change of pace point guard off the bench.

On the defensive end, Jackson has great potential due to his size and athleticism.

During the Draft Combine, Jackson posted some of the best numbers of all participants. He finished first in the shuttle run, second in the max vertical jump (Diallo finished first), third in the standing vertical jump and fifth in the three-quarters-court sprint.

With a little time to develop this raw talent, Jackson can turn out to be a formidable backup point guard or play off the ball as a combo guard.

With the Magic having Elfrid Payton on the roster, it will be interesting to see what the team will do at the top of the draft with so many point guard options available. If the Magic decide to go away from Elfrid Payton by selecting a Dennis Smith or De’Aaron Fox with their sixth pick, Jackson might not be the choice for the second round.

But if Orlando sticks with Payton, having Jackson on the bench in waiting would not be a bad option.
