Everything you need to know about the 2017 NBA Draft Lottery
The Nuts and Bolts
OK, so you have read through this whole Q&A and feel ready for the NBA Draft Lottery, right?
So it would make sense to end this with the most basic information. The draft order and the odds. As you watch the NBA Draft Lottery, you want to see everything come up in this order — at least until the Magic come up at No. 5. But there are still a few other things to watch:
- Boston (via Brooklyn)* — 25.0% for No. 1; 64.3% for top three
- Phoenix — 19.9% for No. 1; 55.8% for top three
- Los Angeles Lakers# — 15.6% for No. 1; 46.9% for top three
- Philadelphia — 11.9% for No. 1; 37.8% for top three
- Orlando — 8.8% for No. 1; 29.1% for top three
- Minnesota — 5.3% for No. 1; 18.3% for top three
- New York — 5.3% for No. 1; 18.3% for top three
- Sacramento! — 2.8% for No. 1; 9.9% for top three
- Dallas — 1.7% for No. 1; 6.1% for top three
- New Orleans% — 1.1% for No. 1; 4.0% for top three
- Charlotte — 0.8% for No. 1; 2.9% for top three
- Detroit — 0.7% for No. 1; 2.5% for top three
- Denver — 0.6% for No. 1; 2.2% for top three
- Miami — 0.5% for No. 1; 1.8% for top three
*Remember the Kevin Garnett trade? Yeah, the Eastern Conference finalists are owed a pick swap from the Brooklyn Nets from that deal, giving the Boston Celtics the top odds in this year’s Draft Lottery.
#As noted before, the Lakers pick goes to the 76ers if it falls outside the top three as part of the Brandon Knight trade.
!Philadelphia has the right to swap picks with the Sacramento Kings. The Kings would also send their pick to the Bulls if it falls outside the top 10.
%The New Orleans Pelicans send the pick to the Kings if it is outside the top three.
As Lloyd said Monday, after Tuesday the team will have a lot more clarity of the options ahead of it. That is what the Lottery will settle Tuesday night.
