Sixth Man of the Year: Bismack Biyombo

With all of the lineup changes that occurred throughout the season, one of Orlando’s constants was Bismack Biyombo’s energy off the bench. Biyombo plays aggressive and his high motor is infectious.

By the numbers alone, Biyombo was a little underwhelming considering the contract he signed in the offseason. But that also speaks to the depth of this team.

Having Biyombo coming off the bench was always a spark for the Magic. His hustle and intensity kept the team going on the defensive end while Vucevic was out.  Because of his defense and his motor Biyombo was given some starts over Vucevic in an attempt to jumpstart the starting five, who were starting games slowly.

Biyombo’s presence in the paint was not his only effective tool for the Magic. Biyombo is also a great rim runner on the offensive end of the court. Biyombo rolls strong to the hoop and if he can handle the pass, he more than likely will finish with a bucket or on the free throw line.
