"After Thursday night’s 30-point beatdown at the hands of the Warriors, first-year Magic head coach Frank Vogel remained positive — a personality trait lauded by third-year forward Aaron Gordon."

The only thing that seems like it will remain constant for the Orlando Magic after this season heading into next season is Frank Vogel. After three coaches in the last three seasons and a coaching change each year, the Magic need some stability on the bench.

The progress has not been good, but Vogel’s positivity and intensity are what endears him to his players. It is what has made him such a respected coach around the league.

The Magic will need to see progress and some results next year for sure. He does not skate by without blame. But largely, everyone views what he has done with Nikola Vucevic and even with Aaron Gordon to some extent as a positive.

He does have his drawbacks. He has seemingly mismanaged his rotations, leaving a struggling bench lineup to flounder as he rides his starters hard (or maybe not hard enough) to end the season. Mario Hezonja has also been in and out of the rotation without seemingly finding a defined role.

The Magic have a lot of questions to answer. But at least they have a decent captain guiding the ship.
