5 questions the Orlando Magic face in the season’s final quarter
Will anyone become a leader?
The Orlando Magic lack a leader on their roster. True leaders set the example for their teammates.
Currently, the Magic have no leadership on this team and pretty soon they will have to decide who will be the leader on this team. Someone has to step up to the forefront and prove they are worth building a team and a culture around.
With Serge Ibaka gone, that took a huge veteran role away from the Magic.
Terrence Ross is a great player and would definitely be a great leader for the Magic alongside Bismack Biyombo.
Ross has the skills and ability to lead this team. His great offensive and defensive game can help the Magic learn from his skills. He can boost others around him. But he has never played with the consistency to take that step.
With Bismack Biyombo’s experience from being in the NBA Playoffs and his aggressive mindset, it would definitely be something the Magic can look at and learn from. Biyombo has been a calming leadership voice in the locker room at times.
But Biyombo is not starting and has struggled to stay on the court. It is tough to lead when a player is so one dimensional. Biyombo’s offensive contributions are just too small.
As of now, the Magic do not have true leadership on this team. And it hurts them as a team.
If the Magic are going to finish the season without making the playoffs, it is best to experiment the leaderships role now and try setting a tone for next season to come.
Someone needs to step up into this role.
