"Coach Frank Vogel this week said Aaron Gordon looks a lot better at power forward. It’s really great that Vogel has been able to finally watch his team for the first time this season."

The Aaron Gordon position question is one that has colored the Magic’s season from the very beginning.

When Orlando acquired Serge Ibaka to begin with, everyone began asking questions of exactly where and how the Magic expected to employ Aaron Gordon. It felt like the team was going to have to trade Nikola Vucevic to free up time. Then the team doubled down and signed Bismack Biyombo.

It all felt very odd.

Aaron Gordon has played just seven percent of his total minutes at power forward this year, according to Basketball-Reference. There is not a whole lot to learn from those few minutes — 82Games.com, for instance, reports the Magic have a -10.8 net rating in those minutes.

Gordon, though, clearly provides an offensive benefit at power forward overall. He did last year, at least.

The Magic experimenting some with Gordon at the small forward position was a worthy one. To do so exclusively is still very puzzling. Especially running such a dramatic experiment in a season that felt like it was Playoffs or bust.

Now, as Vogel said Saturday, everyone seems to be in their proper position.
