The NBA trade deadline is less than a week away and the Orlando Magic have made it known they will be active. Who should the Magic target as they attempt to rebuild this roster?

General manager Rob Hennigan and the Orlando Magic made it known in mid-December the team was going to be active heading into the trade deadline.

Now, the trade deadline is less than a week away now and the Magic continue to be mentioned in many rumors around the league although the team already traded Serge Ibaka to the Toronto Raptors, acquiring Terrence Ross.

Despite being mentioned in many rumors, the Magic are not holding a fire sale and giving up on this season. The team is trying to be opportunistic and attempting to find balance for their roster as they attempt to compete this season and build for the future at the same time.

This is certainly something many Magic fans have debated, since many feel the Magic should simply give up on this season and try to get a high draft pick in the upcoming NBA Draft instead of pursuing a low playoff seed. Hennigan and coach Frank Vogel continue to say the Magic are not going to give up on this season.

The Magic will be looking to trade veteran players such as Jeff Green, D.J. Augustin, C.J. Watson and would be willing to entertain offers for Nikola Vucevic and Elfrid Payton. The only player that seems to be untouchable is Aaron Gordon at this point.

With that in mind, what should the Magic go after at the trade deadline as the team attempts to construct a more balanced roster and acquire young players that the team can control for years to come?

Let’s look at some players that the Magic should be targeting heading to Thursday’s NBA Trade Deadline.
