We’re not sure how much “heart” has to do with the league’s worst defense or regression to the mean after last year’s feel-good season, but a one-point loss to the Clippers and a double-digit win over OKC quickly spiraled into a thorough beating from Denver and a 45-point shellacking from the Warriors.. Yes, this turned out to be a big week for Aaron Gordon. His 30-point outburst Wednesday against the L.A. Clippers was a career revelation. It showed exactly what he could be when he gets everything going the right way. The fact he was playing against much smaller defenders probably helped.

But his position remains a sitcking point for many. And it may very well may be holding him back.

Gordon went from scoring 33 points against the Clippers to 13 against the Nets (on 4-for-12 shooting) and just seven against the Raptors. He is still figuring out how to put everything together.
