Concluding Thoughts

As the season enters its second full month, the Orlando Magic sit at an unimpressive 7-11 record.

Much more was expected by now. The team was supposed to challenge for the playoffs while being an impressive defensive side whose offense was just about good enough to put them over the edge. Only some of this has come true.

And there will be further growing pains.

Yet if the team sticks together and continues to improve as it has, it has the potential — though is by no means guaranteed — to contest for a lower playoff spot.

As to whether this can be done without a new influx of talent is questionable. At the very least, someone on the roster, aside from Serge Ibaka, will also have to take a tremendous step up, and help push the team to victory.
