When it comes to the reasons as to why the Dwight Howard-Stan Van Gundy Magic teams from 2008-2010 were so successful, one of those near the top was the presence of Rashard Lewis. Without Lewis, the concept of having four shooters around Howard may have never come off.

It was this formula that led to that success.

Lewis came to Orlando on the back of being a one-time All Star during his nine seasons with the Seattle Supersonics. His final year with the team in 2007 saw him put up 22.4 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, on 46.1 percent shooting and 39 percent shooting from deep. This led to the Magic signing Lewis to a massive six-year, $118-million contract as part of a sign-and-trade.

Although Lewis never quite lived up that figure, he did make a single All-Star appearance during his time with the Magic and shot the lights out from distance for practically the entirety of his tenure.

His strongest 3-point shooting season actually came a year before the Finals season. The 2008 season saw Lewis shoot 40.9 percent from beyond the arc on 6.8 attempts per contest.

Lewis was an innovative figure in Magic history, playing a part in what has possibly been the most innovative system in Magic history. He has certainly earned a high place on this list.
