Aaron Gordon’s place

Aaron Gordon is not quite ready to be among the 10 best small forwards in the league quite yet. He still has a lot of growing to do.

Not to mention, it is still unclear where Gordon is best playing at and just where all his potential will head to.

If Gordon is looking for an upward trajectory, getting to Jae Crowder’s level and role would be a huge leap forward. Crowder may not be a star, but he has a very defined and important role. He is invaluable to the team.

Gordon is in the group of players in the middle of the league when it comes to starting small forwards. Players like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Andrew Wiggins, while also young, have defined themselves more. Veterans like Rudy Gay and Wilson Chandler have established their production more.

Gordon should improve and surpass those veterans this upcoming year. He will make his way into the group of young players vying to take over the league. Gordon may still be a little ways away.

This is going to be a year of tremendous growth for Gordon. He will have every opportunity to make his name and turn his potential into kinetic energy. Or at least a role for himself and some clearer direction for his career.

Gordon has plenty of potential. Entering the 2017 season, it is all just that though. And there is no clear prediction for what he can become.
