Big Men

From the start of the offseason, it was widely thought the Orlando Magic would go after a “Big” to complement Nikola Vucevic and protect the rim. Serge Ibaka fulfills those needs and would maybe put an end to the search for a big man, not so.

Reports are the Magic are still interested in signing Al Horford.

If Al Horford is still an option, that has to mean all other Bigs whom the Magic have been rumored interested in, are also still in play.

Veterans like Horford and Joakim Noah can add additional depth to the front line along with toughness and leadership. The Magic will need to acquire frontline support as they did not extend an offer to Andrew Nicholson and Jason Smith is an unrestricted free agent without Bird Rights.

Restricted free agent Dewayne Dedmon was made a qualifying offer and is not expected to have many other suitors, so he very well could continue his shot blocking in a Magic uniform.

A frontline of Aaron Gordon, Ibaka, Vucevic and Dedmon would be formidable, but the more depth, the better.
