The Good

It is sometimes easy to forget in these drafts when getting deep into the prospects that the point of the game is to score. Being able to put the ball into the basket and do so efficiently is a good thing.

Sometimes scouts can overthink this.

Beasley is kind of the sniff test for that. He averaged 15.6 points per game and shot 47.1 percent from the floor and 38.7 percent from beyond the arc. With a 24.3 percent usage rate, a 54.1 percent effective field goal percentage is pretty impressive.

He already has a lot of really strong offensive skills and good athleticism to get to the basket in transition and create for himself. His 3-point shooting is good enough to have a role without the ball it would seem.

Beasley has the look of a shooting guard in every way. He can score in a lot of different ways, both off the dribble creating for himself and shooting from beyond the arc. But he is also good at cutting and making easy passing plays.

Beasley is simply a scorer. That is the simplest act to do on the court.

Perhaps thinking too hard about prospects and their weaknesses blinds to what some guys are really good at. Beasley, put in the right situation, could be a breakout player.
