Orlando Magic

The most likely option for Fournier will be returning to the Orlando Magic. General manager Rob Hennigan has stated that it is priority number one to get Fournier back.

“One of our biggest if not our biggest priority this summer is to make sure Evan stays with us. We’re confident we’ll be able to do that,” Hennigan explained

Fournier had a career year last season and provided the Magic with consistency on both sides of the ball. Bringing him back is a logical move for the Magic.

Fournier has shown steady improvement throughout his time in Orlando and is a sure thing on offense. He provides great perimeter shooting and a unique ability to drive the lane.

Again, the defense needs improvement but is moving up in the right direction. If Fournier can bulk up, there is a good chance his defense improves and maybe even becomes a net positive.

This off-season is crucial for the Magic. They have brought in the high-profile coach and look to take a major step in the rebuilding process. Fournier is one way to keep stability and if the Magic can add a max-contract level player with him, it’s the best of both worlds.

It is important to note the Magic have a ton of cap space. Hovering around $40 million, the Magic have room to land a pair of max free-agents and If the Magic spend the majority of their cap space on two stars, Fournier will be the odd man out.

Barring that scenario, fans should be expecting Fournier to return to Central Florida.
