Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers need to start digging themselves out of the hole they have dug themselves for the past four seasons. After getting the number one overall pick in the draft this year, the 76ers needs to start adding more talent to their roster.

One of the reasons Philadelphia restructured its front office was because Sam Hinkie’s regime did not value veterans much and let the young players sort of run wild.

The 76ers are not going to attract a big-name free agent, but starting to get solid pieces to surround all the young talent they have is a must. Evan Fournier is a great example of a player that fits that mold.

The 76ers have a ton of cap space. They are going to overpay for most of their free agents and that may be their only hope of getting Fournier to head to the City of Brotherly Love.

Fournier is also only 23. By the time the Sixers are relevant again, Fournier will probably be in the prime of his career and be a great asset to backcourt.

With the current state of the Sixers’ roster, Fournier is the best guard. He will have the ability to be the number one scoring option on the outside and the Sixers are in need of 3-point shooting.

Fournier may be near his ceiling as a player, but if he has not reached his potential, Philadelphia is certainly the place for him to reach it.

Josh Wilson explained why a Sixers and Fournier partnernship makes sense. It is something the team can get behind.

This offseason is huge for the Sixers and could go a long way in jumpstarting “the process” into long-awaited victories.
