2017 Outlook

It is hard to say what the outlook is for Dewayne Dedmon heading into next season.

Dedmon is a restricted free agent, and the Magic may decide to drop his qualifying off in an attempt to swing for the fences in free agency. Even so, who knows what the breaking point for the Magic would be to match and retain him.

If Dedmon were to return to the Magic with a roster similar to last season, he should be locked in as the backup center for next season.

If Dedmon were to leave Orlando this offseason, he will be a steal to whatever team he goes to. Dedmon has starting center capability if he is able to become more disciplined defensively.

A team like the Portland Trail Blazers could desperately use a rim protector and rebounder like Dedmon to platoon with Mason Plumlee or Ed Davis.

All in all, Dedmon’s stock is definitely on the rise.
