Best Game of 2016

March 18 vs. Cavaliers

45 pts., 16/22 FGs, 6/7 3FGs, 7/8 FTs

Victor Oladipo was still plenty capable of putting in a big game. He had plenty throughout the year. He was plenty capable of heroics too. His triple double in the second game of the season against the Oklahoma City Thunder not only showed he could go toe to toe with Russell Westbrook but also that he could fill up a stat sheet.

It was a sign of all he could be. It just came too few and too infrequent.

When it did show up though, Oladipo was a supernova. Someone who could be everything the Magic need to stir the pot — on both ends.

That was most apparent in his game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He put in his best scoring performance and showcased everything that had grown about his offensive game.

There was no envisioning Oladipo scoring this many points when the Magic drafted him. Not even in the way he did in this game.

He created offense from his defense. He attacked in transition. He hit his jumpers — pull-up jumpers. The defense was completely at his whims.

This is what a superstar looks like. Oladipo was certainly capable of putting those performances in and this was a reminder of that.
