Final Grade

Orlando Magic. ANDREW NICHOLSON. A-.
You might call it grading on a curve. But, given the expectations, Andrew Nicholson played very well.
<div class=. PF

Nicholson came out this season like a player who knew it was a make or break season for his career and showed improvements in a lot of the areas that hurt him in the past.

He found his offensive game and his long-range shooting made him one of the better shooters on the team (low bar). He showed flashes of fitting a role that is vital for winning teams. Skiles inexplicably benched him for a long stretch after two really poor all-around games in January. And Skiles admitted there really was no reason other than a minutes squeeze, seemingly regretting that decision.

Nicholson did not let that get him down. When he got his chance to shine after Ersan Illyasova was injured and played himself out of the rotation, Nicholson shined. Nicholson has shown a professional approach, his improvement this year should have elevated his perception around the league.

At a critical point in his career, Andrew Nicholson stepped up and should now have a long NBA career thanks to his hard work and professional approach.
