The Orlando Magic took care of business against the Brooklyn Nets with nearly everyone getting in the act of dismantling the Brooklyn Nets 139-105.
The Orlando Magic for one night looked like the team it was early in the season.
The offense was flowing like wine, from getting 71 points from the bench to shooting 61.5 percent from the field. The Magic played unselfish basketball and took smart shots the entire night. It was as though the team had time warped back to December when this season seemed to hold nothing but promise.
And that maybe the biggest takeaway when the team plays like this: It is a team with sufficient talent to soon be much higher in the standings.
This season was not a total loss, and the Magic got a good look at how well it pays off to move the ball.
Orlando had 40 assists on 56 field goals, and Elfrid Payton led the way with a dozen assists, one shy of his career high. The Magic simply had what it took offensively, and Brooklyn was unable to counter with any huge scoring performance of its own.
