Which teams are the Orlando Magic battling for the 8th seed?
By Joe Buckley
Can the Magic get to the 8th seed?
Technically, they can. But it is a major long shot.
Has this group given us enough to suggest they will . . . well that is a different story. They simply have to start winning, right now.
The Magic have clear issues. Bad losses to lower teams with close games against the big guns point to one thing: Energy and effort.
There is no reason, on paper, the Magic should not be able to climb the standings right now. If one were to simulate this roster on 2K, it would probably work out in Orlando’s favor.
If only.
But in real life, they have an uphill battle and a lot of problems they most solve now.
Management will be in decision mode. Go for eighth, or call it a day and develop the younger players? Maybe the two still go hand in hand.

The time of deciding is drawing ever closer, and you can be sure they will be keeping an eye on these rivals when they weigh up their chances.
