Monday, March 7: @ Golden State
Damn.
The Golden State Warriors lost to the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday afternoon. And it was not a pretty loss for the Warriors. It was actually history-making.
This is very, very unfortunate for the Orlando Magic. The Warriors are pretty hard to beat anyway. But an angry Warriors team, looking to show off in front of their home fans? Watch out.
Having said that, the Warriors do have a slight vulnerability. Andre Iguodala missed the Lakers game and is questionable for tonight. Andrew Bogut joins him there. Festus Ezeli has been out for some time. This seriously reduces the Warriors’ inside presence, forcing new Warrior Anderson Varejao into heavy minutes.
If there is a time for Nikola Vucevic to strike, it might be tonight.
Stephen Curry went 1 for 10 from 3-point land yesterday. Is there the slight possibility he will finally feel some pressure to perform? No. The answer is no.
A bet against Curry’s shooting is not a smart bet. Curry deciding to really go for it (you know, to the tune of 51 or something) might be much more likely.
Can the Magic repeat the admirable effort they gave the Warriors recently? If they do, and the pressure rises for the Warriors, this time it might be enough to push the Magic all the way.
