The Orlando Magic headed into the All-Star Break playing much better but still with big questions. The question is can that confidence carry over?

The Orlando Magic went into the All-Star Break in a strange, but better place.

Uncertainty remains around the team ahead of this week’s trade deadline thanks to that 2-12 January. But it also remains for the rest of the season.

The Orlando Magic are still very much in the Playoff race coming out of the All-Star Break. Despite that terrible record in January and for the last month and a half, the Magic are only 3.5 games out. To say the least, though, the Magic have their work cut out for them.

A lot of work cut out for them.

Orlando should have a bit of a bump having won two in a row and taking the San Antonio Spurs to the wire. Then again, who knows how crushing losing another double-digit fourth-quarter lead heading into the break could end up being.

The Magic will hit the trade deadline ahead of Friday’s first game against the Dallas Mavericks to kick off the second half of the season, and so we do not know what kind of team will be on the floor at that time.

It does seem however the Magic hit a nice stride heading into the break and found a bit of themselves — the team that went 19-13 through December. The question is how sustainable that is moving forward.
