Verizon Slam Dunk Competition (TBA)

Aaron Gordon

Easily the most athletic member on the team, and arguably the NBA. There is no reason he should not be a participant if not this year than at some point in the very near future. In fact, if he is not in the event soon, the entire city of Orlando should riot.

But really, look at his dunks and give me one reason why he should not. It would be a travesty if he somehow got snubbed from this event.

According to Chris Haynes of Cleveland.com, Aaron Gordon will, in fact, participate in this year’s dunk contest against Andre Drummond, Will Barton and defending champion Zach LaVine.

Victor Oladipo

Losing out to the human trampoline, Zach LaVine, (unintentional rhyme, I swear) last year, Victor Oladipo should get another shot at winning the competition.

Oladipo showed some very impressive dunks, and the reason he did not win, well, was because LaVine’s were just flat-out better. A rematch would be very entertaining.

Mario Hezonja

Although his above-average athleticism has yet to translate overseas to the NBA, there is no doubt that it is coming sooner or later, maybe with more playtime.

Hezonja is the only rookie this year capable of potentially winning the dunk contest, and 3-point contest,  at least once in his career as Fran Fraschilla predicted during the draft process. If he does not this year, there’s always the next 15 years.
