The whole season has been spent trying to figure out who this Orlando Magic team is. That was the point, to be frank, as Orlando tried to move forward with its rebuild this year.

The start was incredibly fast and brought hopes up perhaps to some unreal levels. The Magic have always hung around .500, and it feels like they have been a bit more.

It feels like the first few weeks of this month have been more about the Magic falling back to their mean. They are not as good as they were then and they are not as bad as they are now. There is a happy medium coming.

That happy medium may be enough to put the Magic into the Playoffs. It may not be. The problem with this team right now is that we really do not know too much about it. We know enough to feel comfortable the Magic will be competitive and play some meaningful games — provided they return to what we think is their mean.

This has been a regression January for everyone. There is a decent team in there for Orlando. It just has to bubble back to the surface.
