Just when you thought you could peg the Orlando Magic, they come back and make you question everything. January has shown the Magic still are unsettled.

The Orlando Magic have had a rough start to January. They knew there was a daunting start with six games in nine nights before the trip to London to play the Toronto Raptors coming up this week.

The Magic started the month 1-5 and looking for answers about themselves and where they fit in the larger picture of the Eastern Conference. The Playoffs seem to feel like they are slipping just a bit.

Entering Monday’s games, Orlando is eighth in the Eastern Conference. The team’s place in the Playoffs is a bit more precarious. And the numbers show the Magic are slipping and falling hard.

The next week — the lone game in Toronto — will be about righting the ship and resetting the team’s principles.

What we learned last week is very much the Magic still have a long way to go.
