Top-10 Rookie Rankings: Where does Mario Hezonja Stand Thus Far?
4. Jahlil Okafor
Jahlil Okafor would likely rank at least a spot higher if not for his off-court troubles. He was caught getting in a fight at a night club, casting a dark shadow on what has otherwise been a good start to his NBA career.
Okafor is averaging 17.3 points and 7.7 rebounds per game while shooting 46.6 percent from the field.
The upside he has is readily apparent, even if the 76ers have been a source for laughs league-wide.
Okafor is hardly the reason behind the team’s struggles, and at this point the best thing the Sixers have going is that he and Nerlens Noel make attractive puzzle pieces to better balance the Sixers lineup.
For as good as Isaiah Canaan can be, he is still mostly a shooter and the Sixers are all but devoid of playmakers in its starting five. That is how a team ends up 3-33.
