1) Energy matters. The Magic’s second unit has done a much better job, keyed by the ultra-athletic Aaron Gordon. As to whether Gordon soon earns a starting role: Likely not, until the trade deadline

2) The Magic are doing a horrible job of boxing out. The second chance points have absolutely destroyed Orlando.

3) Elfrid Payton has a lot to learn.  He has been erratic but brilliant at times. Until he becomes more of the latter, Shabazz Napier and C.J. Watson deserve some of those minutes.

4) Victor Oladipo already thinks he is better than he really is. He is trying things that only the likes of James Harden does. The difference? Oladipo keeps his head down driving, gets too far beneath the basket, and he is not going to draw mass whistles.

5) Tobias Harris can be a power forward. He has demonstrated an ability to both play down low and post up on the block some. The threes will still come, but it seems he is best suited as a traditional power forward, not a “stretch-4.”
