Ladies and Gents! Lace up your brand spanking new KD7’s, put on your swim trunks, and let’s take a deep dive from Waiters Island into the warm ocean that is 10, very wealthy, grown men, bouncing a ball creatively and attempting to make said ball pass through a round hoop.

That is right: Welcome to the NBA Season!

So, I know what you are thinking. Juan, the Magic suck again. The team is 0-3. How in the world are you always so happy?

The Magic played some really encouraging basketball.

Scott Skiles’ group pushed the pace pretty well. Oladipo went bezerker against Oklahoma City. The level of dope achieved by Oladipo is so dope it cannot be compared to other versions of dopeness. It is singularly dope in its own dopeness.

And a moment of silence here for the broken jumper of Elfrid Payton…. Because’ it seems like that broken hitch is gone! Payton showed a much softer touch on his shot, and although his shooting percentage numbers are not great — he shot a combined 12 for 33 during the first three games of the season), there is reason for optimism.

The pieces are coming together and to be fair, this is a pretty tough stretch of opponents for a team running a new system with several new players in it. If things do not pucker up in the next few games then maybe we can start to discuss new methods for self-inflicting pain.

But, in the meantime, these are some really good, well-hustled losses. And you know who is down for some well-hustled losses.

This guy.
